Behind the Silver Screen, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra

Enjoy a performance by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra that demonstrates that great composers wrote great movie scores – and so much more. From Fiddler on the Roof to music from West Side Story, enjoy some familiar classics.

A pre-performance cocktail reception will feature insight into the evening’s program by Dr. Christina Gier, Assistant Professor of Musicology at the U of A.

Join us on opening night to see the exciting results of what happens when two of our most innovative drama alumni return to create a special production for their alma mater. Jonathan Christenson (MFA ‘96) and Bretta Gerecke (MFA ‘96) will dazzle the audience with Whisper, "In a world where speaking the truth means risking everything, what can anyone do
but … whisper."

A pre-show reception featuring Department of Drama Chair Dr. Kathleen Weiss will allow you to learn more about the development of this piece.

Seat Selection: Studio Theatre productions at the Timms Centre for the Arts are all general seating. We have, however, made arrangements for sections of seats to be held for our group so that we can fully enjoy our pre-performance reception.

A pre-performance reception with a peek inside the world of ballet will help bring this art form to life.
